Dani Pearce

Dani is an emerging Film Director and Artist based in Sydney, Australia. With a primary focus on experimental narrative, her work sits at the intersection of film, photography and art.

Dani began her career as a creative assistant - writing, designing and developing for some of the worlds most renowned film directors. Her work in this space included everything from global campaigns for Apple, Facebook, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Google, Louis Vuitton, Nike - all the way through to consultation on critically acclaimed series now streaming on Netflix, Hulu, FX USA and beyond. She still works from her Newtown studio on select high-end branded projects and visually consults in the long form space. 


Dani’s filmography includes Nursed Back and Backpedal.

This work has been recognised by Cannes Lions, Cannes Young Director’s Awards, the Saatchi&Saatchi New Director’s Showcase, Vimeo Staff Picks, the London 1.4 ‘On the Cusp of Greatness’ Shortlist, AVIFF Cannes Film Festival, the IMDb Independent Short Awards, Raindance Film Festival and more. Dani is the recipient of Best New Talent at the 2019 Ciclope Awards.


Further, Dani is the 2019 recipient of the prestigious photographic grant, The POOL Grant. Her project All Our Strains is a photographic installation work focused on national identity, colonialism and language. The work exhibited in July 2019 at the Craig Ruddy Gallery in Paddington, Sydney. 

Dani is currently writing her debut feature, another short film and working on an installation of film art works.
